Meet Dr. Pamela Hernandez

Dr. Pamela Hernandez is a veterinarian from Guatemala with 12 years of experience in small animal medicine. Since November 2021, she has been proudly serving the community of Palau. Her career has also taken her to the islands of Guanaja, Utila, Puerto Rico, and Islas del Toro, in the Caribbean where she gained invaluable insights and experience.

Driven by a passion for continuous learning, Dr. Hernandez has pursued advanced training through an emergency internship in Argentina, orthopedic surgery in Brazil, soft tissue surgery and emergency surgery in Mexico, and courses in oncology, and fractures management. Her philosophy is simple: “The more I know, the more I can help.”

Her greatest passion lies in soft tissue surgery, particularly spay and neuter procedures. She views these surgeries as a vital way to control pet overpopulation, support communities, and promote healthier animals.

When not in the operating room, Dr. Hernandez enjoys reading veterinary articles, watching surgery videos, baking, sailing, and working out to stay in top shape for her demanding career.
