Funded Projects

PAWS has been awarded numerous grants over its 25 years.

Recent grants include:

  • “Bird Biodiversity and the Role of Feral and Free-range Felines Nationally: Establishing a Baseline” funded by the GEF Small Grants Programme, 2018-2021.
  • “Palau Companion Animals: Low-Cost Sterilization project” funded by Australian Aid (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade), 2021-2022.
  • “Low-Cost Sterilization of Stray Animals in Palau” funded privately via crowd source funding from Japan, 2021-2022.
  • “ONE HEALTH: Promoting Healthy Pets, Healthy People, Healthy Palau -A Ulekereuil A Charm, Ulekereuil A Beluad” funded under the Republic of China (Taiwan) small grant scheme, 2022. 
  • Supporting Spay/Neuter Outreach and Healthy Communities, NCD Fund, Palau National Government, 2023-2024.
  • $10 Incentive supporting spay & neuter of dogs and cats in Palau, funded privately by Jana and Luca from Switzerland, 2024-current.

 

Over PAWS’ 25 years we have also received earlier grants from the World Society for the Protection of Animals (Australia), Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), Conservation International: Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF), and multiple private donors. For all of our private and grant support, we and the furry paws of Palau are eternally grateful.
